Where is Northwest Colorado Springs?

The Northwest area of Colorado Springs is located directly south of Northgate and north of the West side of town on the west side of I25. The area covers approximately 24 square miles and is at an average elevation of 6870 feet in elevation. This area includes the popular neighborhoods of Peregrine, Rockrimmon, Mountain Shadows and Woodmen Valley. The homes in this area are nestled against the Front Range and have great views to the east. The Mountain Shadows subdivision lost many homes in the 2012 Waldo Canyon Fire. Many new homes have been built since, and the neighborhood has recovered nicely.

The elementary schools in this area include Rockrimmon Elementary, Foothills Elementary, Woodmen Roberts Elementary and the middle school is Eagleview Middle School with high school attendance at Air Academy High School. A small portion of the southern portion of the Northwest area is located in the D-11 School District.
