Pinecliff is one of the best kept secrets in Colorado Springs. The area is on the west side of 1-25 and is bounded by Ute Valley Park to the north and bluffs to west, south, and east. It is a very unique neighborhood primarily because it is sheltered and feels very remote. This community is hidden away and has almost a rural feel, but is only 15 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs.

    Where is Northwest Colorado Springs?

    The Northwest area of Colorado Springs is located directly south of Northgate and north of the West side of town on the west side of I25. The area covers approximately 24 square miles and is at an average elevation of 6870 feet in elevation. This area includes the popular neighborhoods of Peregrine, Rockrimmon, Mountain Shadows and Woodmen Valley. The homes in this area are nestled against the Front Range and have great views to the east. The Mountain Shadows subdivision lost many homes in the 2012 Waldo Canyon Fire. Many new homes have been built since, and the neighborhood has recovered nicely.

    The Northwest area is located primarily in the D-20 Academy School District. D-20 Academy School District is one of the largest school districts in the area. With over 40 schools, the D-20 School District covers the Northwest side of Colorado Springs as well as east towards Briargate. The elementary schools in this area include Rockrimmon Elementary, Foothills Elementary, Woodmen Roberts Elementary and the middle school is Eagleview Middle School with high school attendance at Air Academy High School. A small portion of the southern portion of the Northwest area is located in the D-11 School District.
