Southwest Colorado Springs is a large and diverse area and is also commonly referred to as the Broadmoor area of Colorado Springs. This area is home to some of the areas most interesting and diverse features both natural and man-made.

This area initially grew outward from the world-famous Broadmoor Hotel. In 1942 the War Department began construction of Fort Carson in the southwest area as well. Fort Carson is a major employer for the entire Pikes Peak region and brings a lot of activity and commerce to this part of town.

Other popular amenities of this area include Cheyenne Canyon hiking trails, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Will Rogers Shrine and the Bear Creek Nature Center and Park.

Southwest Colorado Springs is in two separate public school attendance areas, Cheyenne Mountain District #12 and Harrison District #2. Additionally, this area is home to the popular private Colorado Springs School. The primary zip code for this area is 80906.
