Green Mountain Falls is a unique community located 11 miles west of Colorado Springs directly off of Highway 24. The town of Green Mountain Falls is located both in El Paso County as well as Teller County with over 60% of the town located in El Paso County. This town is best characterized as a small, rural town (population less than 1,000) popular with people looking to live a mountainous lifestyle. In the 2010 census, there were 640 people living in the town and the town sits at 7,800 feet of elevation. The number of people increases significantly in the summer as residents from many states come to visit cabins in the area. The characteristic Victorian gazebo on an island in the pond toward the center of town dates from the late 1800’s.
