Monument, Colorado (TriLakes) Neighborhood

The Tri-Lakes area (also known as Monument, Co) is located at the northern edge of El Paso, County Colorado. Approximately 20 minutes north of Colorado Springs and 45 minutes to an hour south of Denver in Monument, Colorado.

The Tri-Lakes area encompasses two municipalities, the City of Monument and the Town of Palmer Lake. There are actually three lakes in the area, Palmer Lake is located in the Town of Palmer Lake; Monument Lake is located in the town of Monument, and Lake Woodmoor is located in the Woodmoor subdivision which is just outside the city limits of Monument.

This area has seen sporadic growth and development since the mid 1800’s. Palmer Lake was originally a refueling stop on the Santa Fe railroad, while the Town of Monument grew from a ranching community into what is currently a large suburb between the two largest cities in the State.

The Tri-Lakes area is located in the Lewis Palmer District #38 attendance area.  This district offers a wide range of programs and resources. People live in the Tri-Lakes area primarily because the area feels like Colorado. There are towering Ponderosa Pines and views of the Front Range. Additionally, this area provides easy access to both Colorado Springs and Denver.

Homes for sale in Monument tend to be single family homes, but there has been a rise in townhomes for sale in Monument as well. Many homes for sale in Monument Co have fantastic Pikes Peak or front range view.
