Tri-Lakes
The Tri-Lakes area is located at the northern edge of El Paso, County Colorado. Approximately 20 minutes north of Colorado Springs and 45 minutes to an hour south of Denver.
The Tri-Lakes area encompasses two municipalities, the City of Monument and the Town of Palmer Lake. There are actually three lakes in the area, Palmer Lake is located in the Town of Palmer Lake; Monument Lake is located in the town of Monument, and Lake Woodmoor is located in the Woodmoor subdivision which is just outside the city limits of Monument.
This area has seen sporadic growth and development since the mid 1800’s. Palmer Lake was originally a refueling stop on the Santa Fe railroad, while the Town of Monument grew from a ranching community into what is currently a large suburb between the two largest cities in the State.
This area has seen significant growth in recent history. Tri-Lakes has gone from being a rural area with little to no commercial amenities to a thriving community with a long and growing list of shopping, restaurants and retail. Utilities are provided by a combination of service providers and many of the larger home sites (2.5 acres plus) in this area are on well and septic systems.
