Falcon
Falcon is a small town located in unincorporated El Paso County, Colorado. This area is located about 15 miles northeast of Downtown, Colorado Springs and even closer to areas like Powers and Briargate.
In the late 1800's Falcon was for all intents and purposes a railroad town. The Denver and New Orleans operated on a rail bed parallel to today's Eastonville Road, then the Chicago and Rock Island on a rail bed parallel to today's U.S. Route 24. The lines' intersection remains an important center of the Falcon area today. A railroad hub in the early 20th century, the town spent several decades as a quiet ranching community until it experienced rapid residential growth throughout the 1990s.
Falcon has seen significant growth in recent years. This area features a good deal of commercial development. This area has seen the recent addition of shopping centers, restaurants and more.
Schools in the Falcon area are Falcon District #49. This is a large school district and currently features a wide range of programs and services.
The availability of affordable land as well as proximity to Peterson and Schriver Air Force Bases have helped promote rapid growth and development in the Falcon area. Many builders, both local and larger national builders are now building in the area. This area offers affordable homes on larger lot sizes.
