Black Forest
Black Forest is a large area located in northeastern El Paso County, Colorado. The Black Forest features towering, ponderosa pines, larger lots ranging in size from 1 to 5 acres on average and in many cases some incredible views.
Black Forest derives it's name from the dense collection of "Ponderosa Pines" that dominate the area. When viewed from the summit of Pikes Peak this area looks like a large black mass. Hence the name "Black Forest".
Since much of the Black Forest area is located in unincorporated El Paso County many or the areas home rely on Well and Septic for water and sewer. All remaining utilities including natural gas are readily available for the majority of this area.
This Area is so large it has three separate school district attendance areas. Academy District #20, Falcon District #49 and Lewis Palmer District #38.
People generally live in the Black Forest because they are seeking privacy, love the trees or want to have their horses close by. Whatever the reason, the Black Forest area is a very popular region.
