I went running at one of my favorite places, the trail at Cottonwood Creek Park. Located in the Northeast area of Colorado Springs, Cottonwood Creek Park sits at the corner of Dublin and Rangewood. This park has it all...soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis courts, in-line skating rink, disc golf course, a huge playground, acquatics center with indoor wave pool, and some of the best running paths I've seen.
In fact, the present running path is 3.64 miles around. The path is both concrete and gravel. The concrete section circles the soccer field and playground. The gravel section circles the disc golf course, hugging the creek along one side.
Here, the views of the mountains and Pikes Peak are phenomenal! The terrain is fairly flat with just a few mild hills. The park is open year round. It's the perfect spot for families and sports enthusiasts.
With places like Cottonwood Park at our fingertips, it's no wonder that MEN'S FITNESS magazine keeps calling Colorado Springs the "fittest city in the nation!"
